No. Getting approved for CPP disability benefits does not mean the insurance company will automatically approve you for benefits as well. The reverse is also true, getting approved for disability insurance benefits does not mean CPP disability will automatically approve you as well. There are many reasons for why this is true, but the most basic reason is that CPP disability and disability insurance policies have different eligibility criteria for benefits. Generally speaking, insurance companies will go to greater lengths than Service Canada to build a case against you. For example, insurance companies will typically spend more on surveillance and getting their own experts to create evidence to justify a denial of your benefits.
